# How does in-flight work?

In-flight mode allows you to act **while the campaign is running** thanks to live **results and early insights.**

### Requirements

To activate **In-flight mode**, the campaign must meet the following condition:

* The campaign must start the day you're doing the setup or in the future, and last a **minimum of 10 days.**
* The campaign must last a **maximum of 90 days.**

In-flight mode **cannot be enabled if**:

* The campaign has already ended
* The campaign has already started, even a few days ago
* It is a ID batch upload campaign

### How it works

After setting up your KPIs, targeting and media channels, select **“In-flight”** in the **Collection tab**. Set up your Brand lift and submit it. Data is collected continuously from exposed audiences (fresh daily basins) and insights are delivered throughout the campaign, from the moment we reach 150 respondents (max 30% of campaign duration).

{% hint style="warning" %}

* For single-channel campaigns a boost collection of 1000 respondents **mandatory**
* For multi-channel campaigns, a boost collection of 1000 respondents is **recommended**
 {% endhint %}

#### Respondent collection

Respondents are collected on a **daily basis**, according to a consistent quota calculated as follows:

Daily quota = Total number of respondents required ÷ Number of campaign days

**Example** : The campaign lasts 40 days and the Brand lift requires 1000 respondents :

1000 ÷ 40 = 25 respondents per day.
**Rules :**

* If there are less respondents than the daily quota, the missing respondents will be distributed across the remaining days
* There can’t be more respondents per day than the daily quota.

#### Exposure pools

When retargeting is used, respondents are selected from a pool of people who have been recently exposed to the campaign.

#### Sample adjustment

From the beginning of the collection process, our[ quota and adjustment system](https://support.happydemics.com/analysis/brand-lift-results/what-is-adjustment-weight#adjustment-weight-in-details) is applied **daily** to ensure that the **control group (non-recallers)** remains representative of the recall group based on **gender and age criteria**.

This rebalancing continuously adjusts as new respondents are collected. As a result, the results displayed each day are calculated using **adjusted respondents**.
